The LinkEdge Browser App is designed to run on a computer with a reliable internet connection.
However, if your internet is unavailable, it is still possible to create sales transactions.
If you start the Retail Browser when no internet connection is present, or if you are already running
the program when your connection disappears, you will be automatically directed to the off-line window.
From this window, you are able to
- add items to a sale,
- take cash or check payments,
- finish a sale transaction, and
- begin a new one.
Your complete library of product and service items is available off-line.
When your internet connection is restored, the next time that you start the LinkEdge Browser App,
these off-line Sales Transactions will be automatically uploaded.
They will simply become part of your normal on-line transaction data.
While this design minimizes the inconvenience to you, please be aware of the following limitations:
It is not possible to associate a customer with an off-line sale.
It is not possible to accept a credit card as payment.
The list of serial numbers is not available.
The Universal Products Library is not available.
It is not possible to record a check number, a note, or a detail with the Transaction.
